Greetings Fellow Golfers!
My name is Ashaunta Epps and I’m the CEO/Founder of A Perfect Swing, Inc. I’ve worked in corporate America for over fifteen years and I noticed that I was missing out on many networking opportunities because I didn’t play golf. From the first time I picked up a golf club, immediately, I was addicted and I practiced at least five days a week. I took a few lessons with a PGA and LPGA professional and continued to practice. Two months later, under positive duress, I played in my first fundraiser golf tournament. I spent several hours the night before researching golf etiquette on the internet. I was so nervous! I didn’t know anyone else, so I was paired with two women. Just prior to the shotgun start, the women stated that they had been playing golf for twenty plus years. Let’s just say, I was ready to unpack my clubs and run back to my car. Just as the thought crossed my mind, the shotgun went off and we were off to our first tee. I had read many golf books, but during this day I learned some very valuable lessons:
This tournament was my splash into playing the game of golf. Since then, I’ve played in numerous fundraising tournaments and company networking/team-building events. Many people overlook the importance of golf as a networking tool due to the fear of the unknown. Unfortunately, just deciding to play the game of golf and then booking a TEE time is not enough. There are several rules regarding dress, etiquette, and equipment that you need to know about before playing on a course.
At A Perfect Swing, Inc. our mission is to help individuals use golf as a networking tool to advance in their lives. On this site, you will find opportunities to learn and play golf at your own pace, while networking and having fun with others looking to do the same. You will also find information on networking, communication, resume preparation, strategic planning, public speaking, and other life backswing assistance workshops. There’s also information on how you can have A Perfect Swing provide individual golf instruction for you, a group of your friends/family, or present at your next team builder, event, or conference.
So, whether you are a beginner or a novice, A Perfect Swing, Inc. has a play time just for you. Please let me know if I can help. I look forward to seeing you on the course!
Let's TEE It Up TOGETHER SOON!
Thank you!
Ashaunta

Ashaunta has worked in corporate America as an IT Operations Engineer for many years. During this time, she noticed that she was missing out on crucial business conversations that her peers had when they went out to play golf. Once she began to play the sport, she also noticed that it afforded her an opportunity to meet major stakeholders in various businesses and professional organizations. She quickly realized that this was a best kept secret to networking that every person that wanted to be successful should include themselves, thus the objective of A Perfect Swing, Inc. was developed. When it comes to networking while playing golf, YOUR swing IS the perfect swing. The mere fact that you are on the course and in the conversation is the true success factor.
A Perfect Swing’s motto is “Improving your success in life by improving your backswing”. Just as the backswing in golf is key to hitting the ball successfully, so is your backswing of life, for achieving your goals. Many people overlook the importance of golf as a networking tool due to the fear of the unknown of the game itself. Unfortunately, just deciding to play a game of golf and then booking a tee time is not enough. There are several rules regarding dress, etiquette, and equipment that you need to know before playing on a course. In partnership with the LPGA and its Golf 101 program, A Perfect Swing is helping accomplish one of its most important goals, which is to make individuals comfortable on the golf course.
Ashaunta is also the Chief Operating Officer for The Coalition for Teens Helping Teens and Vice President for Polished Pearls Leadership Seminars for Teen Girls. She’s a member of the United States Golf Association. She’s a member of the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Charlotte Chapter of National Black Master of Business Administration Association, Women in Technology International (WITI), and Home and Foreign Mission Development Center (Kingstree, SC). She is dedicated to giving back to her community through the sponsorship of youth golf days, Back-to-School supplies drives, mentoring high school athletes, tutoring, and serving in various community service projects.

When I played in my VERY FIRST golf tournament, I was paired with two women that graciously took me under their wings for that day. They gave me golf tips, encouraged me, and even shared their snacks with me when I thought I was going to pass out from being famished. (I was a newbie, so I didn't bring any 😂) After that day, I didn't see them again anywhere. When I started A Perfect Swing, I made a point to try to find these awesome women that had a huge impact on my golf success. I finally found out their names. When I heard one of their last names, I said, oh there is someone in the group that had that name as well. To make a long story short..her daughter is Kelley Goodson Mitchell, who is an active participant in A Perfect Swing! **scream** 😊 I had an opportunity to reconnect with Mrs. Micki Goodson and share with her the impact she had on me. The positive energy and encouragement that they gave me that day is the foundation for A Perfect Swing. Regardless of what your swing looks like now, it's the perfect swing and with encouragement and support it can grow into exactly what you want it to be.
The late Bishop Phillip Davis was an integral part of the establishment of A Perfect Swing. While attending his You-Lead course, he posed the question "If money wasn't an issue, what is it that you would do?" My response was to share the game of golf with everyone to assist them with their quality of life, as well as accomplishing their goals. His response was "Get to it!" And thus the business plan and conversations begin to happen, which led to the establishment of A Perfect Swing, Inc. He was a great mentor to me and the values that he shared will forever be reflected in the A Perfect Swing organization.
