Ashaunta Epps is the Founder and CEO of A Perfect Swing, Inc., a purpose-driven golf organization that helps individuals leverage golf as a strategic networking tool to advance their careers. Through its 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation, A Perfect Swing Foundation introduces youth to golf as a low-impact alternative sport while delivering leadership, communication, and networking workshops that support holistic youth development. Collectively, the organization has impacted more than 10,000 youth and adults, advancing both access to and inclusion within the game of golf.

A proud native of Kingstree, South Carolina, Ashaunta is an LPGA Top 50 Best Teacher and Class A Member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Her leadership and service have been widely recognized, including being named the Inaugural (2025) LPGA Foundation Carrie Russell Champion for Change Award Recipient, 2025 and 2024 LPGA Southeast Section Junior Leader of the Year, 2022 and 2021 LPGA Southeast Section Professional of the Year, and 2020 Teacher of the Year.

As a leader within the LPGA, Ashaunta played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s equity and inclusion efforts. She developed the first-ever LPGA Professionals Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and worked directly with the LPGA Commissioner to define and communicate the LPGA’s Diversity Statement of Inclusion. She also collaborated with LPGA Professionals’ leadership to modernize the Marge Burns Grant criteria, helping expand access for individuals from all backgrounds entering the golf profession. Additionally, she supported updates to LPGA recruitment practices, organizational language, and signage to better reflect underrepresented communities. She currently serves on the Renee Powell Education Grants Committee, which provides financial support to African American women pursuing LPGA Professionals certification.

Ashaunta is a respected voice in the golf industry and a repeat main-stage presenter at the PGA Merchandise Show, the world’s largest and longest-running global gathering for the business of golf. She is also a multi-time presenter for initiatives focused on diversifying the game, including the Golf Industry Coalition’s Make Golf Your Thing, PGA of America’s Carolinas Big Show, the USGA Pathways to Leadership Program, and the Fairways to Leadership Program.

In May 2025, Ashaunta released her first book, A Perfect Swing: A Lesson in Golf, Perseverance, and Finding Your Purpose. The book is a practical, step-by-step guide that connects the fundamentals of golf with personal growth, resilience, and purpose discovery. She shares her powerful journey of overcoming a debilitating childhood hip injury and how it shaped her purpose-driven career in golf. Throughout the book, Ashaunta offers actionable lessons on developing a growth mindset, maintaining physical and mental wellness, building meaningful professional networks, and mastering the fundamentals of golf to improve performance and confidence. The book is a testament to the belief that purpose can emerge through anything—even golf.

A Perfect Swing’s CEO/Founder, Ashaunta Epps, was inducted into the African American Golfers Hall of Fame and received the 2016 Pathfinder Award! Pictured with her is AAGHOF Founder Malachi Knowles, 12 Time PGA Tour Champion James "Jim" Dent, Golf Channel Analyst Tim Rosaforte, PGA Tour Director of ShotLink and Field Operations Don Wallace, President of Fairview Golf Club Martha Clark, and some of the A Perfect Swing Foundation youth.

When I played in my VERY FIRST golf tournament, I was paired with two women that graciously took me under their wings for that day. They gave me golf tips, encouraged me, and even shared their snacks with me when I thought I was going to pass out from being famished. (I was a newbie, so I didn't bring any 😂) After that day, I didn't see them again anywhere. When I started A Perfect Swing, I made a point to try to find these awesome women that had a huge impact on my golf success. I finally found out their names. When I heard one of their last names, I said, oh there is someone in the group that had that name as well. To make a long story short..her daughter is Kelley Goodson Mitchell, who is an active participant in A Perfect Swing! **scream** 😊  I had an opportunity to reconnect with Mrs. Micki Goodson and share with her the impact she had on me. The positive energy and encouragement that they gave me that day is the foundation for A Perfect Swing. Regardless of what your swing looks like now, it's the perfect swing and with encouragement and support it can grow into exactly what you want it to be.

The late Bishop Phillip Davis was an integral part of the establishment of A Perfect Swing. While attending his You-Lead course, he posed the question "If money wasn't an issue, what is it that you would do?" My response was to share the game of golf with everyone to assist them with their quality of life, as well as accomplishing their goals.  His response was "Get to it!" And thus the business plan and conversations begin to happen, which led to the establishment of A Perfect Swing, Inc.  He was a great mentor to me and the values that he shared will forever be reflected in the A Perfect Swing organization.
